Sensory Deprivation:
Q: What is sensory deprivation?
A: Sensory deprivation is simply the act of being deprived of one’s
senses, either individually (sight, sound, touch, taste, smell), or in
entirety.
Q: How are the senses deprived?
A: The senses may be deprived in a myriad of differing ways. Blindfolds,
hoods, and even electrics equipment (like the ‘Nova 100’ mind machine,
also known as a light/sound machine) can be used, along with a variety
of accoutrements such as gasmasks and complete restraint/enclosure
equipment (like specially designed ‘suits’ and ‘body bags’). In
addition, suspension techniques are able to be incorporated into sensory
deprivation play.
Q: How can sensory deprivation be used
during a session?
A: To deprive the senses is to facilitate the awakening and/or
heightening of other senses, whether they be of the traditional
groupings, i.e. to deprive sight means that hearing will be heightened,
or whether they be pertaining more to specific forms of gnosis, i.e. to
deprive all the senses facilitates the opening of the mind and the
rediscovering of primal ‘senses’ (like the ‘sixth sense’) which many
people either do not know they possess, or find difficult to access.
Complete sensory deprivation is one of the most effective ways to access
the aforementioned ‘sixth sense’ or to open the ‘third eye’, and whilst
this can be achievable with forms of discipline such as meditation,
whether it be transcendental or with the use of a floatation tank, for
example. The kind of sensory deprivation which you will experience in a
session with Mistress takes this further, as Mistress not only
‘deprives’, but also ‘revives’, inasmuch as there is more emphasis on
the physical, as well as the mental/psychological and emotional factors.
In a session with Mistress, you will become increasingly aware of both
your body and mind, and experience the unique and precious freedom of
not only body and mind per se, but also your soul, and in the space
which can be found only in what is best described as the ‘gap between
realities’, Mistress will become the absolute centre of your universe,
your only Goddess, and the only thing which will exist is the very thing
(or things) which Mistress chooses to do to you. In this place, even the
simple act of Mistress running Her perfectly-manicured fingernail down
your back, can feel like the most incredible sensation in the world …
and if such a ‘mundane’ act such as this can be so mind-blowing, then
imagine what will happen when I really start to get to work.
Q: How extreme or safe is sensory
deprivation?
A: Sensory deprivation with Mistress is perfectly safe, as I use these
techniques and equipment with the utmost care and responsibility.
However,
certain sensory deprivation techniques are not recommended for those
with respiratory, heart, arthritic, circulation, or blood pressure
conditions, and may not be advised for those ‘of years’. For example,
Mistress would not consider using extreme hood/gasmask play involving
cigarette smoke and/or amyl nitrate should you suffer from respiratory
problems, nor would She use extreme sensory depriving suspension
techniques with anyone who suffers from circulation problems and/or
arthritis.
In addition, sensory deprivation may have to be avoided
in the case of certain neurological and endocrine conditions, epilepsy
being one perfect example of such. Therefore, it is especially vital
that you not only inform Mistress of any medical or physical conditions
you may have, but also any psychiatric or psychological issues, in
addition to any medications you are taking, regardless of whether or not
you personally feel or think that they are relevant.
Please note: I only ever indulge in
sensory deprivation play if I am 100% happy that you and the session
will benefit from such use. If I have even the slightest doubts
regarding your suitability to partake in sensory deprivation, I reserve
the right to cancel and/or stop the session immediately. When sensory
deprivation is in use during a session, I will be constantly monitoring
you and have simple and effective techniques to ensure your safety at
all times.
